We are very excited to announce that our “Nextcity – Making the Vision of Intelligent Travel a Reality” video has won the ITS World Congress 2012 video competition! The competition results were announced on October 26th at the closing ceremony of the ITS World Congress in Vienna, where the global ITS community had come together to discuss the latest trends and policies in Intelligent Transportation Systems.
The four-minute video demonstrates Nextcity, our vision for a fully-integrated payments, information and decision management system which is designed to be deployed across urban transportation networks. The potential of Nextcity to revolutionize the way we travel in cities is shown in the video through the stories of three commuters, whose travel choices are guided by a single integrated transit account which helps them make their everyday journeys faster, more comfortable and more cost-effective.
There were over 50 videos entered in to the competition, all of which were excellently put together, and included many of the biggest names in the transit industry. The first round of the 2012 ITS Video Competition saw over 5,000 votes that were cast over a four-day period of public voting. The final round of voting was judged by a panel of ITS experts. The contest was organized and run by ERTICO, the network of Intelligent Transport Systems and Services stakeholders in Europe.
