    <description>Successful extension of Oyster onto the National Rail network in Greater London acclaimed by judging panel

SAN DIEGO, Calif. &amp;ndash; May 11, 2012 &amp;ndash; Cubic Transportation Systems (NYSE:CUB), Transport for London (TfL) and the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) have been awarded the prestigious Transport Achievement Award at the 2012 International Transport Forum ceremony in Leipzig, Germany. Awarded to a project, initiative or service offering that demonstrates progress towards the vision of seamless transport, the partnership was applauded for its outstanding work in introducing Oyster to the National Rail network in London.

Cubic worked closely with TfL, ATOC and the train companies to upgrade National Rail services in Greater London so that stations not on the Underground could form part of the seamless Oyster network and enable passengers to reap the rewards of using a fully integrated, flexible smartcard. Since January 2010, 350 National Rail stations in London have been able to accept Oyster &amp;ldquo;pay as you go,&amp;rdquo; and usage on services operating in the area has increased from half a million to over 2.5 million journeys per week. Passengers are now able to use their Oyster card on multiple modes of transport in the capital &amp;ndash; including National Rail services, the Underground, the Overground, the DLR and buses. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

Roger Crow, Cubic managing director for Europe, said, &amp;ldquo;We are delighted to have been recognized with this prestigious award, alongside our colleagues at TfL and ATOC.&amp;nbsp; This major project success showcases what can be achieved by a truly collaborative partnership and we are very proud of the difference that we and our partners make to the daily travel experience of so many.&amp;rdquo; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

Shashi Verma, TfL&amp;rsquo;s director of customer experience, said, &quot;Extending Oyster coverage to all 350 National Rail stations in Greater London has been a massive improvement for passengers. The Mayor was determined to make that happen and recognition of the achievement is hugely encouraging. We will continue to explore even more ways to improve customer experience.&quot;

Peter Twigg, head of London Support at ATOC, said, &amp;ldquo;The extension of Oyster &amp;lsquo;pay as you go&amp;rsquo; to National Rail has been a fantastic success. The aim was to make public transport around the capital easier for thousands of rail passengers every day. The huge take up since its launch shows that customers really appreciate the benefits that Oyster offers. It took huge amounts of joint work behind the scenes by train companies, TfL, Cubic and the Government, so recognition through this award is gratifying for all involved.&amp;rdquo;

    <title>Cubic and UC San Diego to Collaborate On Next Generation Intelligent Travel Research </title>

    <description>Cubic grants $500,000 over five years for technology research to benefit travelers &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
SAN DIEGO, Calif. &amp;ndash; May 10, 2012 - Cubic Transportation Systems (NYSE:CUB), a leading integrator of intelligent transport systems and services, and the Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego), one of the world's leading public research universities, have entered into a collaborative partnership to research the next generation of intelligent travel technologies for cities.
Cubic will contribute $500,000 over five years to the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering to fund research done by faculty, students and Cubic Transportation Systems staff.&amp;nbsp; The project aims to achieve a better understanding of the application and utilization of emerging technologies, with the ultimate goal of making transportation easier, more convenient, more economical and environmentally greener for transit operators and their customers.&amp;nbsp;
&amp;ldquo;The partnership with UC San Diego will help Cubic realize its vision of mobility in the future &amp;ndash; what we call Nextcity,&amp;rdquo; said Matt Cole, senior vice president of strategy and business development.&amp;nbsp; &amp;ldquo;Consumer mobile devices, wireless communications and account-based payment processing create the opportunity to make significant new information available to travelers.&amp;rdquo;&amp;nbsp;
Through integration of regional transport payments and traveler data, Nextcity will deliver personalized information to passengers so they can make informed travel choices. &amp;ldquo;Our&amp;nbsp; research will make better use of the existing data and seek innovative ways to apply this information and technology to better the traveler&amp;rsquo;s experience, and improve the efficiency and utilization of the transportation system and a city&amp;rsquo;s resources,&amp;rdquo; said Pradip Mistry, vice president of engineering.
The research partnership potentially spans mobile and web technologies, wireless networking, location-based services, data warehousing, and system architecture and analytics, all areas of expertise at the university. Combining the broad scope of the university&amp;rsquo;s research expertise across these domains with Cubic&amp;rsquo;s insight into the transportation sector will be instrumental to finding practical yet innovative new approaches,&amp;rdquo; said Frieder Seible, Dean of the Jacobs School and holder of the Walter J. Zable Professor endowed chair at the school.

&amp;ldquo;Cubic has been a long-standing partner of UC San Diego and the Jacobs School, and we see this new collaboration as a way to deepen that relationship with our faculty and students.&amp;rdquo; Cubic is the global leader in intelligent transport systems and services. With Cubic&amp;rsquo;s &amp;ldquo;smart&amp;rdquo; fare payment cards and advanced integrated ticketing systems users board vehicles faster, travel and transfer between modes more easily. Transit operators see the benefits of shorter boarding times and better data on transport usage patterns.&amp;nbsp;

Cubic is also supporting account-based processing for open payment standards, enabling transit riders to use their own fare media, such as a bank-issued MasterCard PayPass or Visa payWave credit, debit and prepaid contactless smart cards or an NFC-enabled mobile phone. With more than 20 years of contactless smart card payment experience in the transit industry, Cubic has active open payment projects with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Transport for London (TfL), TransLink in Vancouver and New Jersey and Delaware&amp;rsquo;s Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO) system, the first in the world to use transit-branded contactless Visa prepaid cards. Account-based processing opens up the opportunity for the integration of transit payment with other forms of transport payment such as tolling and parking. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

The Cubic and UC San Diego research collaboration will help discover new technologies and strategies that reduce the costs and increase the utility of these services.

    <description>SAN DIEGO, CALIF., May 7, 2012 - Cubic Transportation Systems has announced the appointment of a strategic advisory board to support and guide the company&amp;rsquo;s senior management team.

Cubic has led the revenue collection market for the past four decades, delivering solutions that have been deployed in helping transit agencies lower their costs, increase convenience and improve positive public perceptions of the transit system. Over that time, the company has been responsible for many of the most significant advances in the sector.

&amp;ldquo;We are in a period of considerable change,&amp;rdquo; comments Cubic Transportation Systems president Steve Shewmaker, &amp;ldquo;with transit agencies and state governments confronted with the dual challenge of reduced access to capital and operating budgets at a time of high population growth, urbanisation and an increase in demand for mobility.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;ldquo;Cubic is helping its customers to respond to these challenges by changing its business to become a more agile partner and to think longer-term about how we can support them in shaping positive responses to the rapidly-changing dynamics confronting them. We&amp;rsquo;re investing more than ever before into research and development and continue to seek strategic acquisitions to accelerate our capabilities. The establishment of an advisory board comprising a small number of extremely accomplished and highly respected individuals is an important step in the transformation of our business.&amp;rdquo;

Appointments to the board include:

Secretary Norman Mineta, who served under President Bill Clinton as Secretary for Commerce, before spending over five years as President George W Bush&amp;rsquo;s Transport Secretary &amp;ndash; the only Democrat in President Bush&amp;rsquo;s Cabinet

Willie L. Brown, Jr., Mayor of San Francisco from 1996-2004 and Speaker of the California State Assembly from 1980-1995

Robert D Jamison, a proven leader on transportation security and transportation infrastructure, who served as Deputy Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration and Acting Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration.&amp;nbsp; He also served as Deputy Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration.&amp;nbsp; In 2007, he was confirmed by the Senate to be Under Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security.

Steven Norris stood as a candidate for Mayor of London in 2000 and 2004. A former Transport minister in John Major&amp;rsquo;s government, he chaired the transport working group in Conservative Party leader David Cameron's Quality of Life Commission.

The Honorable Bruce Baird AM, was Minister for Transport in New South Wales from 1988-95, Minister for Sydney's Olympic bid between 1990-93 and Minister for Tourism and Roads from 1993-95.&amp;nbsp; In 2008, he was appointed Chairman of the Tourism and Transport Forum, a peak industry lobby group. &amp;nbsp;

&amp;ldquo;We&amp;rsquo;re delighted that our strategic decision-making process will now be informed by such a powerful cohort of transportation sector thought leaders providing guidance to Cubic&amp;rsquo;s senior management team in the areas of market expansion, transit policy and technology&amp;rdquo; says Shewmaker. &amp;ldquo;Their contribution to the future direction of our company will be invaluable and we welcome them warmly to the team.&amp;rdquo;

    <title>Cubic Introduces Account-based Open Payment Platform for Next Generation Contactless AFC Systems</title>
    <link>http://cts.cubic.com/AboutUs/News/News/tabid/434/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/55/language/en-US/Cubic-Introduces-Account-based-Open-Payment-Platform-for-Next-Generation-Contactless-AFC-Systems.aspx</link>
    <description>Sets the stage for travelers to be able to use contactless bank cards, student ID and mobile phones as their smart ticket, as well as transit-issued smart cards

SAN DIEGO, Calif. &amp;ndash; April 11, 2012 - Cubic Transportation Systems, a leading integrator of intelligent transport systems and services, has introduced NextaccountTM, the first of several new products in Cubic&amp;rsquo;s solution systems portfolio for the next generation of fully integrated Automated Fare Collection (AFC) systems.&amp;nbsp; The new platform provides the NFC and contactless smart card interface and transit fare processing engine that enable transit operators to give travelers the convenience of using an account to pay for travel or using open payment fare media, such as contactless bank-issued credit, debit and prepaid contactless smart cards, as well as transit-issued smart cards, as their ticket.&amp;nbsp;

Nextaccount will also pave the way for mobile payment and ticketing solutions in transit, giving travelers the ability to pay transit fares directly at the point of travel with Near Field Communications-equipped (NFC) mobile phones.&amp;nbsp; Further, Nextaccount will collect payment from any other smart card-based &amp;ldquo;secure token&amp;rdquo; that is linked to an account such as transit-issued contactless smart cards or employer and student ID cards that conform to the ISO 14443 contactless standard. &amp;nbsp;

&amp;ldquo;The transit industry is on the verge of a transformation, and Nextaccount creates the ability for transit agencies to continue to reduce their cost of fare collection while improving the traveler and customer experience,&amp;rdquo; said Matt Cole, Cubic&amp;rsquo;s senior vice president of Strategy and Business Development.&amp;nbsp; &amp;ldquo;This development reflects Cubic&amp;rsquo;s commitment to leading the evolution of the fare collection industry.&amp;rdquo;

In traditional smart card-based fare payment systems, the transit value resides in a contactless chip inside the transit card, and transactions are managed and tracked on the card.&amp;nbsp; With account-based payment, the transit value resides in a transit account in Nextaccount, and is accessed via a digital signature read from a transit card by the fare payment system.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Adoption of an account-based system also enables open payment and lets consumers directly use their bank-issued contactless cards to pay for trips.&amp;nbsp; In this way consumers will pay for transit services just like they pay for any other retail purchase, using their contactless credit or debit cards as they board buses or pass through metro turnstiles, eliminating the extra step of buying a transit fare card or token.

For transit agencies who don&amp;rsquo;t want to issue their own fare cards, moving to open payment reduces the need to procure, encode, distribute, and support literally millions of magnetic tickets or contactless smart cards. It will also reduce the amount of cash collected, reduce cash handling costs and the associated infrastructure investments, and reduce fraud and fraud management costs.

The Nextaccount solution evolved from Cubic&amp;rsquo;s signature Nextfare platform now in use in many of the world&amp;rsquo;s major transit systems. Nextfare was the first fare collection system compliant with the industry standards that govern open architecture.&amp;nbsp; Nextaccount can operate in parallel with an existing Nextfare system or as a standalone solution and provides transit agencies with an easy upgrade path to acceptance of open payments and other account-based instruments.

Nextaccount is also the newest product in the Nextcity solutions portfolio, Cubic&amp;rsquo;s vision of mobility in the future.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Through integration of regional transport payments and traveler data, Nextcity will deliver personalized proactive information to citizens so they can make informed travel choices.&amp;nbsp; Nextcity does not require the addition of new infrastructure, instead leveraging existing assets to manage cross-modal demand and set regional pricing across modes. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

With more than 20 years of contactless smart card payment experience in the transit industry, Cubic has active open payment projects at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Transport for London (TfL), Vancouver and the Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO) system, the first in the world to use transit-branded all contactless Visa prepaid cards.

&amp;ldquo;The Smart Card Alliance&amp;rsquo;s transit industry members are actively focused on transitioning to account-based and open payment models, and eventually mobile payment that will utilize the same infrastructure as contactless bank card systems,&amp;rdquo; said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the multi-industry non-profit educational organization.&amp;nbsp; &amp;ldquo;Cubic&amp;rsquo;s efforts to smooth this transition are tightly aligned with the direction the market is headed.&amp;rdquo; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

Cubic&amp;reg; Transportation Systems, Inc. is the world's leading turnkey solution provider of automated fare collection systems for public transport including bus, bus rapid transit, light rail, commuter rail, heavy rail, ferry and parking. Cubic's solutions and services include system design, central computer systems, equipment design and manufacturing, device-level software, integration, test, installation, warranty, maintenance, computer hosting services, call center services, card management and distribution services, financial clearing and settlement, multi-application support and outsourcing services. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

    <title>PATCO Pilot Moves into Phase Two, Accepting MasterCard and Discover in Addition to Visa Contactless Payment Cards</title>
    <link>http://cts.cubic.com/AboutUs/News/News/tabid/434/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/54/language/en-US/PATCO-Pilot-Moves-into-Phase-Two-Accepting-MasterCard-and-Discover-in-Addition-to-Visa-Contactless-Payment-Cards.aspx</link>
    <description>As open payment methods expand, PATCO Wave &amp;amp; Pay card pilot program introduces Ride Free for 100 Days contest
CAMDEN, N.J., April 2, 2012 -- Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc., a business segment of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) and the integrator of intelligent transport systems and services that created the PATCO Wave &amp;amp; Pay ANYWHERE Visa&amp;reg; Prepaid Card, has announced Phase Two of the open payment pilot program. During Phase two, riders will be able to use a plastic contactless Visa, MasterCard or Discover card, or a virtual card in a mobile wallet, to make secure transit payments at PATCO (Port Authority Transit Corporation) gates and parking terminals.
Riders will simply tap their cards and go, paying their PATCO fares with a quick flick of the wrist.
Officials from Cubic said the PATCO pilot program is designed not only to speed riders through PATCO&amp;rsquo;s stations, but also to gain valuable technical information on the best practices for deploying and operating future contactless payment systems in other transit systems. This will include Chicago where Cubic is under contract to deliver open payment.
&amp;ldquo;Cubic is excited about Phase Two of the PATCO pilot,&amp;rdquo; said Steve Shewmaker, president, Cubic Transportation Systems Worldwide. &amp;ldquo;This is all about making wallets slimmer and life for the transit agency and their customers even more convenient.&amp;rdquo;
In 2011, PATCO partnered with Cubic Transportation Systems to create the first transit-agency branded, all contactless Visa prepaid card in the world. This was among one of the first times that consumers had been able to use the same transit payment card for both transit and retail purchases. That prepaid payment card, the Wave &amp;amp; Pay ANYWHERE Card, debuted on September 26, 2011, as Phase One of the PATCO pilot program.
&amp;ldquo;We are pleased to continue our partnership with Cubic and Visa on this groundbreaking pilot,&amp;rdquo; said Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) CEO and PATCO President John J. Matheussen. &amp;ldquo;Open payment &amp;ndash; combining a transit payment card with a full-service retail payment card &amp;ndash; is the future of transit fare collection. The PATCO Wave &amp;amp; Pay ANYWHERE Visa Prepaid Card ensures that all of our riders have access to a new level of payment convenience and security.&amp;rdquo;
During Phase One, PATCO riders could pay all of their PATCO fees with the PATCO branded Wave &amp;amp; Pay card, and then use the same card to pick up a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread on the way home. There has never been an enrollment fee to acquire a Wave &amp;amp; Pay card and take part in the pilot program. Wave &amp;amp; Pay cards are still available for PATCO riders online at www.PATCOpilot.com.
Phase Two of the pilot program comes at the same time as Cubic&amp;rsquo;s Ride Free for 100 Days Contest, open to all PATCO riders.
&amp;ldquo;We want to reward PATCO riders for participating in this pilot, and a contest with several winners is a fun way to do it,&amp;rdquo; says Cubic&amp;rsquo;s Steve Brunner, vice president and regional director for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. &amp;ldquo;Everyone with a registered Wave &amp;amp; Pay card is eligible to win, and the more times a PATCO rider taps his or her card at the PATCO gates, the more chances they have to win.&amp;rdquo;
Three lucky PATCO riders will win $600, loaded directly on to their Wave &amp;amp; Pay cards. Prize winners will be selected at the end of March, April and May.
PATCO riders who do not yet have a Wave &amp;amp; Pay card can visit www.patcopilot.com/contest and complete the form to get a new card. There is no charge to get a Wave &amp;amp; Pay card, and no credit check is required. Once the new card is registered online, the cardholder is entered into the contest. Customers get a new chance to win every time they use their Wave &amp;amp; Pay cards.
PATCO riders who already have a registered Wave &amp;amp; Pay card can enter the contest at the same website, www.patcopilot.com/contest.
After the pilot ends, the PATCO Wave &amp;amp; Pay ANYWHERE Visa Prepaid Card will continue to be accepted everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted until the expiration date on the card.
To follow the latest news and participate in the discussion, visit blog.PATCOpilot.com, follow the pilot on Twitter@waveNpayPATCO and Facebook.com/waveNpay.
The PATCO Card is issued by The Bancorp Bank pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. The Bancorp Bank; Member FDIC.

Prior to her new position, McAvoy was HR director in charge of all North American HR activities.

&amp;nbsp;
McAvoy is involved in a number of community outreach and volunteer activities, most notably Susan G. Komen for the Cure for breast cancer and Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County, through which she mentors an 8-year-old girl.&amp;nbsp;McAvoy was Cubic Transportation Systems&amp;rsquo; recipient for the 2005 YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) award.&amp;nbsp;
&amp;nbsp;
Contributing to Cubic&amp;rsquo;s growth have been recent major contract wins, including London, Sydney, Vancouver and Chicago, as well as customer milestones that include the open-payment pilot program for the PATCO commuter rail line that runs from South New Jersey to Philadelphia and the 142 percent growth in active Clipper Cards from 2010 to 2011, as recently reported by the Metropolitan Transit Commission in the San Francisco Bay Area.&amp;nbsp;

    <title>Cubic’s Bay Area Transit Customer Tops One Million Contactless Smart Cards </title>
    <link>http://cts.cubic.com/AboutUs/News/News/tabid/434/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/48/language/en-US/Cubics-Bay-Area-Transit-Customer-Tops-One-Million-Contactless-Smart-Cards.aspx</link>
    <description>SAN DIEGO, Calif.,&amp;#160;January 19, 2012 – The Bay Area-based Metropolitan Transit Commission has surpassed one million active Clipper&#174; cards in circulation just 18 months after rebranding the card from TransLink to Clipper, making the contactless smart card fare collection system one of the fastest growing in the U.S. transit industry.&amp;#160;In making the announcement, the agency credited the increasing number of participating transit operators as well as their collective customer education efforts for driving the growth, up 142 percent from the prior year. Cubic Transportation Systems, a subsidiary of San Diego-based Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) delivered and operates the Clipper system.
&amp;#160;
“We’re really pleased about the numbers, and that word is getting out that it’s time to switch from paper to plastic,” MTC’s Clipper Program Senior Coordinator Jake Avidon said in the MTC announcement.&amp;#160;To convert transit riders from old-style paper tickets to the modern Clipper card, participating agencies have been actively educating riders on the benefits, including the one-card convenience, the capability to add value online at https://www.clippercard.com/ClipperWeb/index.do and special fare discount programs for some riders.
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
“We’re excited for MTC and its customers that Clipper is winning over new fans who recognize how much easier it makes their commutes,” said Matt Newsome, Cubic’s vice president and regional director for the West Coast.&amp;#160;“Clipper has something for everyone, particularly seniors, youth and the disabled who can benefit from discounted fares that are only available with the contactless Clipper card technology.”

Clipper is a regional fare collection system that utilizes the Clipper smart card for customers to add value to and pay their fares with one card on any of the regional services now linked via the Clipper system.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; Participating operators include the Bay Area Rapid Transit District, San Francisco Muni, AC Transit, CalTrain, SamTrans, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority and the Golden Gate Bus and Ferry system.
&amp;#160;
In 2009, Cubic took over the contract for the original TransLink regional fare collection system, and in less than a year, helped MTC launch the new Clipper system.&amp;#160;Cubic operates the customer call center, Clipper Card fulfillment and distribution, technical help desk, the retail merchant network, and the transit benefits system for employer/employee management of transit subsidies.

    <title>Cubic Selected for Chicago Open Standards Fare System Contract</title>
    <link>http://cts.cubic.com/AboutUs/News/News/tabid/434/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/43/language/en-US/Cubic-Selected-for-Chicago-Open-Standards-Fare-System-Contract.aspx</link>
    <description>New system will be the largest ever automated fare collection contract placed in North America
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – November 17, 2011 - Cubic Transportation Systems, a business unit of San Diego-based Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), has been selected for contract award by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) to integrate, deliver, operate and maintain the agency’s next-generation open payments system that will accept bank cards and, ultimately, mobile phone payments.&amp;#160;The contract has an estimated value of $454 million, making it the largest automated fare collection contract ever placed in North America. Cubic will operate and maintain the entire system, resulting in an overall 12-year partnership between Cubic and the CTA.
&amp;#160;
To create the CTA Open Standards Fare System (OSFS), Cubic will transition the agency from its current agency-issued fare media to an open payment system where customers can use their existing credit or debit cards as a ticket, bringing the retail experience to transit ticketing. Like most transit agencies today, the CTA operates a “closed loop” fare collection system, selling its own magnetic tickets and smart cards that can be used only on CTA and Pace.&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;
Riders without credit or debit cards will be issued reloadable prepaid debit cards that can be used for everyday purchases and CTA rides.&amp;#160;

“The CTA is taking a revolutionary approach that will transform travel for the more than 1.6 million rides citizens take each day on the CTA to get to their jobs, schools and other destinations,” said Richard Wunderle, senior vice president and general manager of Cubic Transportation Systems North America.&amp;#160;

Cubic will be the systems integrator and services provider, leading a team that will also include First Data Corporation, Carolyn Grisko &amp;amp; Associates, Americaneagle.com,&amp;#160;and Bank of America Merchant Services.

“In taking this action, the Chicago Transit Authority will upgrade its fare equipment, save additional money over time, improve the customer experience, grow ridership and keep abreast of rapidly-changing technology. It’s a major step forward, and we and our partners are eager to begin,” said Cubic Transportation Systems vice president John Satterfield.
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
Cubic is the transit industry’s leading provider of revenue management and business information systems and services.&amp;#160;The CTA – which has been a Cubic customer since 1993 when Cubic was awarded the contract to deliver Chicago’s current system – is among major customers that include London, Washington, D.C., San Francisco Bay Area, Atlanta, Miami/South Florida, Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, Brisbane, Sydney,&amp;#160;and Vancouver.
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
The contract award culminates the CTA’s competitive procurement that included several major competitors in the transit industry.&amp;#160;Cubic expects to execute the contract in the near future.&amp;#160;
The estimated contract value of $454 million is made up of both fixed and variable revenue components. The payments under the contract will begin when the commercial service status of the system is achieved, which is expected to be within the first two years of the contract. The company will not likely recognize revenues from the contract until that milestone is reached.

    <description>Key milestone in establishment of unified state-wide mobile ticketing; option to pay via bank or mobile phone billing for enhanced flexibility
KASSEL, Germany – November 15, 2011 - Cubic Transportation Systems, a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), the world’s leading provider of intelligent travel solutions, will soon be providing Nordhessischer Verkehrsverbund (NVV) with a mobile service for rail and bus travel planning and ticketing. &amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
Established in 1995, NVV coordinates 26 public transport operators managing and serving 84 train stations and 5,608 bus stops across 100 towns and surrounding rural areas of Northern Hessen.
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
NVV is one of three authorities providing public transportation in the German state of Hessen. With agreements already in place with Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund and Rhein-Neckar Verkehrsverbund, the announcement represents a major step towards the goal of a unified mobile ticketing system encompassing all modes of public transport across the state – the first such scheme in Germany.
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
Cubic has customized the mobile ticketing service for NVV to ensure the product meets their objectives. As a result, the mobile ticketing solution will integrate with the existing NVV journey planner app so that passengers can receive travel updates and buy their tickets from one source. Additionally, Cubic’s payment service-interface on the app will enhance the way in which customers purchase tickets. Customers can either register their credit or debit card details or invoice the cost to their mobile phone bill, an option particularly advantageous for less frequent commuters and tourists.&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
Marcus Platts, Cubic Transportation Systems managing director for mainland Europe, commented: “NVV is dedicated to developing travel ticketing that matches the needs of its customers, allowing them to check travel information and buy tickets quickly and conveniently. Once deployed, Cubic’s advanced mobile ticketing solution will improve the experience for all travelers throughout the region, from daily commuters to occasional visitors.
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
“Cubic continually develops high-quality travel solutions that deliver an enhanced passenger experience across the world, and we’re delighted that NVV will be implementing our mobile ticketing solution across Northern Hessen,” continues Marcus Platts. “In the future, we are looking forward to working with NVV to ensure that the entire state will operate on just one mobile ticketing system.”

    <title>Cubic Integrates Video Interface in Next-Gen Ticketing Machines</title>
    <link>http://cts.cubic.com/AboutUs/News/News/tabid/434/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/42/language/en-US/Cubic-Integrates-Video-Interface-in-Next-Gen-Ticketing-Machines.aspx</link>
    <description>Enhancements deliver richer customer experience, added revenue opportunities for transit agencies
SAN&amp;#160;DIEGO, California -&amp;#160;November 3, 2011 -&amp;#160;Fare cards aren’t the only products that Cubic Transportation Systems’ self-service ticketing machines are delivering now that the company has integrated high-resolution video displays in its next-generation machines for public transit.&amp;#160;According to the company, a subsidiary of San Diego-based Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB), transit agencies will be able to offer video advertising, information, marketing, direction maps&amp;#160;and other messages directly at the point of purchase, adding a new channel for high-traffic generating agencies to attract additional revenues, as well as to get more useful information in front of customers.&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;
“The technology for this enhanced display capability has reached a level of stability and pricing that we can offer it to customers either as an option for upgrading their existing Cubic ticket machines, or as a new device altogether for a new customer,” said Pradip Mistry, Vice President of Engineering for Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc.&amp;#160;“Transit is used by millions of people every day, and with our products serving as the primary ‘touch point’ for these customers to purchase and pay their fares, this enhanced capability helps to drive more useful information in real time.”
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
The new video display will be two times larger than Cubic’s current display, with multi-touch capability allowing customers to zoom in and out, similar to how smart-phone touch technology works.&amp;#160;When touched by a customer, the screen automatically launches the user interface for purchasing or adding value to a fare product. After a pre-set period of inactivity, the screen defaults to the advertising or other informational screens defined by the transit agency. As an option, Cubic can integrate a 3D display delivering amazing imagery that can be viewed without the need for special glasses.

“Our clients want to engage their customers on par with everything else in their digital lives, and we are enabling them to touch their customers that way,” said Mistry.

Cubic has integrated more than 4,200 ticketing machines in transit properties in North America, the United Kingdom and Australia, including agencies in New York, Florida, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Brisbane.

    <title>Cubic Receives Contactless EMV Bank Card Type Approval for Next-Generation Tri-Reader&#174; 3</title>
    <link>http://cts.cubic.com/AboutUs/News/News/tabid/434/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/41/language/en-US/Cubic-Receives-Contactless-EMV-Bank-Card-Type-Approval-for-Next-Generation-Tri-Reader-3.aspx</link>
    <description>SAN DIEGO, Calif., October 17, 2011 — Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc., the transportation unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), has received approval from the top four bank card brands for the Tri-Reader 3 to process their branded contactless EMV bank cards for use in public transit revenue management systems. Cubic has equipment and systems supporting seven of the top 10 largest public transit markets in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia as well as other major markets around the world.
The Tri-Reader 3 is the first contactless smart card device designed for use in public transport to process all industry standard contactless smart cards. The reader also processes bank-issued contactless EMV cards that meet the financial industry’s standards for contactless open payment, and has been approved by EMVCo, American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. The Tri-Reader&#174; 3 supports multiple card schemes — for example, in the U.K., Oyster, ITSO and contactless EMV cards can now be read concurrently on the same contactless reader. The Tri-Reader 3 was developed by Cubic on behalf of Transport for London and the company has a worldwide license for its use for open payments.

Cubic’s technology can also support payments made with Near Field Communications (NFC)-powered mobile phones, a form of payment that Cubic has tested in U.S. and European transit systems.
The Tri-Reader 3 will give Cubic’s customers a transition path to add account-based, open payment contactless EMV bank card and NFC acceptance to the same system.
“Our customers now have an open payment solution, which means that our technology supports any contactless media that conforms to ISO 14443, whether in an account, card or NFC phone based system,” said Pradip Mistry, Vice President, Engineering, for Cubic Transportation Systems. “At the same time, we have also ensured that the same levels of speed and reliability we have built into previous generations of card-based fare collection systems are achieved for open payment.”
To test and prove its account-based processing technology, Cubic and its customer PATCO have partnered to provide Philadelphia/New Jersey region commuters with the world’s first transit-branded all contactless Visa&#174; prepaid card. The new PATCO Wave &amp;amp; Pay ANYWHERE Visa&#174; Prepaid Card began a 12-month pilot program on September 26, marking the first time that consumers will be able to use the same transit payment card for both transit and retail purchases. The Tri-Reader 3 is also being deployed on London buses and future plans exist to expand the rollout across the whole of Transport for London’s estate.

    <description>BlackBerry Smartphone users in Germany’s Rhein-Main region can now use their mobile to purchase tickets and timetable enquiries on the move
FRANKFURT, Germany – September 29, 2011 - Cubic Transportation Systems, a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) that is the world’s leading provider of intelligent travel solutions, has successfully expanded its mobile ticketing system in Germany and delivered to Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund (RMV) a version of the app for BlackBerry.&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;The RMV network area encompasses the city of Frankfurt, which ranks second only to London as a financial centre in Europe. The launch was marked by a ceremony attended by the Mayor of Frankfurt, Petra Roth.
&amp;#160;
Along with users of Android and iPhone handsets, BlackBerry owners can now quickly and easily purchase tickets on RMV’s public transport system, without looking for change and waiting in queues at a ticket machine. Once registered via the RMV website at www.rmv.de, passengers can purchase single tickets, day tickets and group day tickets for adults. Predefined routes can be saved to ‘Favourites’ to speed up purchases and transactions are conveniently filed in a ‘Ticketsaver’ folder for repeat purchases.
&amp;#160;
The mobile ticketing app also provides access to a comprehensive, real-time information timetable and a tool to track GPS positions and the next available stop.
&amp;#160;
RMV CEO, Knut Ringat, said: “The mobile app has become an additional and simplified distribution channel for passengers to purchase their tickets – essentially creating a mobile ticket machine in their pocket. Its availability across all common smartphone platforms underlines RMV’s commitment to deploying the latest technology to serve our customers better.”
&amp;#160;
Marcus Platts, Cubic Transportation Systems managing director for mainland Europe, commented: “Cubic has been supplying mobile phone ticketing using Java-based applications to RMV for a number of years, and after launching the app to iPhone and Android users last year we are pleased to supply a version of the app suitable for BlackBerry. All Smartphone users can now purchase their tickets quickly and conveniently and make better informed travel decisions on the move.”
&amp;#160;
The free RMV app can be downloaded from the BlackBerry App World website.

    <title>Cubic Partners with PATCO to Offer Riders the World's First Transit Agency-Branded Contactless Visa&#174; Prepaid Card for Transit and Retail</title>
    <link>http://cts.cubic.com/AboutUs/News/News/tabid/434/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/38/language/en-US/Cubic-Partners-with-PATCO-to-Offer-Riders-the-Worlds-First-Transit-Agency-Branded-Contactless-Visa-Prepaid-Card-for-Transit-and-Retail.aspx</link>
    <description>CAMDEN, New Jersey - September 27, 2011 – PATCO and Cubic Transportation Systems, the transportation segment of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), have partnered to provide Philadelphia/New Jersey region commuters with the first transit-branded,&amp;#160;contactless&amp;#160;Visa&#174;&amp;#160;prepaid card in the world. The new PATCO Wave &amp;amp; Pay ANYWHERE Visa&#174; Prepaid Card began a 12-month pilot program on September 26. This marks the first time that consumers will be able to use the same transit payment card for both transit and retail purchases.
Cubic developed the pilot program to assist transit agencies that are facing shrinking budgets and are looking for ways to reduce costs of fare card operations and create avenues for additional revenues. This type of payment system – called an “open-loop” payment system – uses contactless bank cards that give users the opportunity to spend money wherever the card is accepted. The majority of transit fare cards in use today, such as the PATCO FREEDOM&#174; Card, are closed loop payment systems, meaning they can only be used for transit payments.
&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
“Cubic is excited about this opportunity to field the first full deployment of a general purpose reloadable prepaid card,” said Steve Shewmaker, President of Cubic Transportation Systems Worldwide.&amp;#160;“This is all about making life for the transit agency and their customers even more convenient.”
&amp;#160;
The PATCO Wave &amp;amp; Pay ANYWHERE Visa Prepaid Card is a contactless, general purpose, reloadable card. It is one of the lowest fee prepaid cards on the market. To participate, PATCO riders can get a free PATCO Wave &amp;amp; Pay ANYWHERE Visa&#174; Prepaid Card with no enrollment free from brand ambassadors who will be on site for the first two weeks of the pilot at six PATCO stations where special kiosks will be located to enable customers to load their cards. Customers can also order and register their cards online at www.PATCOpilot.com. Riders use the card to wave and pay at PATCO gates and parking terminals and anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including telephone and online purchases and bill payment. The cards can be loaded, reloaded and managed many ways, including online. Once the card has been registered, it is FDIC insured and can be used for cash back on purchases and for ATM withdrawals.

    <description>Significant station concourse improvements are revealed, including 42 new ticket barriers completed by Cubic Transportation Systems
LONDON – August 5, 2011 - Many of London Bridge Station’s 350,000 daily passengers are now enjoying dramatically improved concourse facilities as a major milestone was reached last weekend in London Bridge Quarter’s creation of a 21st century public realm around one of the capital’s key transport hubs.

Congestion for departing and arriving passengers has now been eased with the completion of 42 new ticket barriers by Cubic Transportation Systems, the transportation segment of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB). The new ticket barriers represent a 40 percent improvement on the old structure. In addition, the concourse’s new glass roof, which links to the Shard, has been installed and much of the old station roof has been removed giving passengers a feel for what the new terminus will feel like and the additional light it will attract. At the same time the new stone flooring continues to be installed for completion in May 2012.
&amp;#160;
The environment under the Shard’s glass ceiling will mean that the gateline is visually minimized. To ensure that customers continue to flow through the station, overhead directional displays will be added later in the year to maintain the flow between trains and the underground system.

The gateline supports both magnetic and Oyster ticket checking capability. Although Cubic has been involved with the London Bridge (Shard) redevelopment project since September 2008, its critical tasks of removing the old and implementing the new ramp-less gateline were completed overnight on July 31, 2011 for a seamless transition for customers.

These improvements are part of LBQ’s &#163;50 million transformation of the station concourse and bus station, and creation of a new public piazza that links The Place, a 430,000 square foot headquarters office building currently under construction, to the iconic mixed-use Shard tower.&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;
In addition, the Shard will deliver much-needed modern retail facilities at its base facing out onto the station concourse, and new escalators from the public piazza will link to a new underground retail mall.&amp;#160;A total of about 12,000 square feet of new retail space is being created.

The project team led by Sellar Property, LBQ’s developer, is using innovative thinking to complete the station concourse transformation while minimizing passengers’ disruption and inconvenience. This includes constructing a new station roof above the old roof, which is being used as a working platform, thereby significantly reducing both impact on passengers and building time.

The station concourse and a majority of the public realm works will be completed in time for next year’s Olympics. Practical completion of the Shard will be the end of May 2012, while The Place will be completed in April 2013.

    <description>Smart card system is one of Cubic’s largest fare collection projects
BRISBANE, Australia – June 15, 2011 - A new milestone has been reached for the smart card ticketing system in the Australian state of Queensland, with the state’s Transport Minister announcing the distribution of the two millionth go card. Cubic Transportation Systems, the transportation segment of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), installed and operates the ticketing system for the Queensland Government.
&amp;#160;
Cubic’s Managing Director for Australasia, Matt Cole, said the ticketing system, which features more than 10,000 pieces of equipment, is now recording more than 3 million trips a week. More than 80 percent of public transport trips are now on go cards.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;
“Cubic is delighted to have played a part in the success of the go card system, which richly deserves the title awarded last year as the best smart card ticketing scheme for public transport in Australia,” Cole said. The Queensland Government and the state’s transport coordination body, TransLink, deserved congratulations for the two millionth go card milestone, Cole said.
&amp;#160;
“The smart card ticketing system for southeast Queensland was rolled out three years ago. This time last year we celebrated the one millionth go card - to double that figure in the next year is a remarkable accomplishment given the huge scale of the public transport network,” he said.
&amp;#160;
“This is not just a city ticketing scheme - it’s, geographically speaking, one of Cubic’s largest projects anywhere in the world. The Queensland project covers an area of 10,000 square kilometres, stretching from Brisbane to the coast, north to Noosa and south to the New South Wales border. In comparison the London Oyster card scheme covers an area of 1,600 square kilometres,” he added.
&amp;#160;
To commemorate the milestone, Queensland’s Transport Minister, Annastacia Palaszczuk, presented a “multiplatinum” plaque to one of the top 10 go card retailers in the State. The milestone was achieved with the support of the many retailers who make up the largest smart card retail network in Australia, Palaszczuk said.
&amp;#160;
“We have undertaken significant investment across the go card distribution network resulting in a 150 percent growth in the past 18 months,” she said.
&amp;#160;
The growth in go card use has assisted with planning improvements to the public transport network.
&amp;#160;
“The travel data provided by go card is helping us to provide more frequent and reliable public transport, including 150,000 weekly train seats and 50,000 additional weekly bus seats we added to the TransLink network this month,” Palaszczuk added.

    <title>Cubic Supports New Chiltern Railways Mobile Train Ticketing App</title>
    <link>http://cts.cubic.com/AboutUs/News/News/tabid/434/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/35/language/en-US/Cubic-Supports-New-Chiltern-Railways-Mobile-Train-Ticketing-App.aspx</link>
    <description>LONDON – June 7, 2011 – Cubic Transportation Systems, the world's leading solution provider of automated fare collection systems for public transport, is supporting the launch of an innovative mobile train ticketing app by Chiltern Railways that enables passengers to buy, receive and validate tickets with new scanners installed on Cubic’s gates at stations on the Chiltern network. This innovation marks the first time that any U.K. rail passengers will be able to use both smartphones and everyday handsets to buy and receive rail tickets through one transaction.
Cubic’s new hand held unit/mobile gate enables passengers to use the app to enter and exit as if they had a traditional ticket, and new on-board equipment for ticket inspectors also allows them to read the mTickets. A visual representation of the mTicket also appears on the phone so that rail operators without scanners on every train or station can also check the tickets.
The app, developed by mobile ticketing software producer Masabi, can be used on iOS devices, BlackBerry handsets, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung Java-based handsets with color screens, while an Android version is also in production.
Roger Crow, Managing Director, Cubic Transportation Systems UK, said: “Cubic is involved in a range of exciting ticketing innovations worldwide and is proud to be providing support to Chiltern Railways in this project. We have successfully integrated bar code capability on our gates and into a new hand held ‘mobile gate’ device enabling the use of Chiltern’s web and mobile ticketing applications. This will deliver benefits to Chiltern’s customers in how they purchase tickets, thus simplifying and improving their travel experience.”
Chiltern Railways, owned by Deutsche Bahn AG, is the first train company to introduce tickets by text message sent direct to mobile phones, and now has a new hotel booking service on their website powered by hotel.info, which gives customers a best price guarantee and access to 210,000 hotels worldwide.
A video showing how easy it is to use the application is available on www.chilternrailways.co.uk.

    <description>TfL, Cubic and ATOC recognised for bringing Oyster onto the National Rail network in London
&amp;#160;
LONDON, May 11, 2011 - Transport for London (TfL), Cubic Transportation Systems and the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) have won the award for Excellence in Technology and Innovation at the London Transport Awards for the joint work on the Oyster Extension to National Rail (OXNR) project.
&amp;#160;
Oyster pay as you go was extended to all 350 National Rail stations in Greater London in January 2010 and now more than two million journeys are made each week using the transport smartcard on National Rail services.
&amp;#160;
The joint effort was recognised at the prestigious awards ceremony on 27 April.
&amp;#160;
TfL invested &#163;40m to install or upgrade equipment at every train station in London to bring about the complete Oysterisation of the Capital’s transport system.
&amp;#160;
Cubic, the world’s leading solution provider of automated fare collection systems for public transport, developed the necessary technologies, including the design and implementation of extensive new systems software architecture, to enable the Oyster extension.
&amp;#160;
ATOC facilitated the liaison with the Train Operating Companies in London to ensure one set of consolidated and co-ordinated requirements could be determined.
&amp;#160;
Mike Tuckett, TfL’s Head of National Rail Development, said: “Oyster pay as you go on National Rail has been a huge success, bringing London together by allowing passengers to use all public transport in the Capital with one smartcard. We look forward to working with our partners to build on this success, and in particular to offer customers the opportunity to use contactless bankcards to pay as they go across London in 2012.”
&amp;#160;
Steve Shewmaker, president of Cubic Transportations Systems, said: “Each year, the London Transport Awards showcases the creativity, execution, achievement and overall excellence in transport development and innovation. We are honoured to join TfL and ATOC in receiving this award for our joint success in providing Londoners with one integrated ticketing system.”
&amp;#160;
Steve Howes, ATOC, said: “The rollout of Oyster pay as you go to cover the whole of Greater London has made things quicker and simpler for the millions of people who use trains to get around the Capital. It’s an honour to win the award, which is recognition for all the hard work that everyone put into making the project a success.”
&amp;#160;
The London Transport Awards, in association with Transport Times magazine, were judged by Transport Times publisher Professor David Begg, Chair of the Judging panel and publisher of Transport Times; Janet Cooke, Chief Executive, London Travel Watch; Nick Lester, Director of Transport, Environment and Planning, London Councils, and Elsie Owusu OBE, Principal Partner of Fielden &amp;amp; Mawson.

Notes to Editors:
&amp;#160;
&#183;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; In early 2012, ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games, customers will be able to use their bank issued contactless debit and credit cards to pay for their travel directly on all of London’s 8,500 buses. This alternative method of fare payment will be rolled out to the rest of the transport network in London later that year.
&amp;#160;
&#183;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; In the majority of cases, Oyster pay as you go offers the cheapest single rail fare applicable to that particular route. The only exceptions are holders of certain national Railcards i.e. Network, Family, for whom cheaper paper tickets for travel on National Rail may be available. Passengers are advised to check the best fare before travelling with the relevant train operator.
&amp;#160;
&#183;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; More than 7 million Oyster cards are regularly used in London and Oyster accounted for more than 3 billion passenger journeys last year.
&amp;#160;
&#183;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; Oyster is available:
- Online at: www.tfl.gov.uk/oyster
- Over the phone at 0845 330 9876
- At one of 4,000 Oyster Ticket Stops across London
- At Tube and London Overground station ticket machines and ticket offices
- From the majority of ticket machines and ticket offices at National Rail stations in the Greater London area
- At the six London Travel Information Centres, open seven days a week at Liverpool Street Tube station, Piccadilly Circus Tube station, Euston Mainline station, Victoria Mainline station, Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3 Tube station and King’s Cross St Pancras Tube station – Western Ticket Hall.

    <description>SAN DIEGO, Calif. – April 19, 2011 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) announced that the managing director of Cubic Transportation Systems Australasia, Matt Cole, confirmed today that the Sydney smart card ticketing project is on time and on budget.&amp;#160;
Approaching the first anniversary of the New South Wales (NSW) government awarding the contract to the Cubic-led Pearl Consortium, Cole said the project is well on track.

“We are hard at work developing a world class smart card ticketing system for Sydney, based on the London Oyster card system, which is widely acknowledged as the world’s most established smart card system,” Cole said.
&amp;#160;
“When we were awarded the contract early last year, Cubic promised the New South Wales Government that we would deliver the project on time and on budget. A year into the job we are meeting all the milestones and timelines laid down in the contract,” he added.

The contract, awarded in May 2010, is for a four-year project, followed by ten years of full operational services. It includes two years of development and testing, followed by a progressive rollout of the new smart cards beginning in late 2012.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;
Sydney’s ferry fleet will be the first to get the new smart card system, followed by rail and then the bus network, with the entire system to be up and running in 2014.
&amp;#160;
Cubic is the lead company in the Pearl Consortium, which includes Australia’s largest bank, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Downer EDI, Parkeon and epay.
&amp;#160;
The consortium’s expertise in smart card ticketing in Australia is unrivalled. Downer EDI and Parkeon installed and run the Perth system, and has recently installed smart cards on the entire ACT bus fleet.
&amp;#160;
Cubic installed and runs Brisbane’s go card ticketing system, which was recently named as the best in Australia by the peak industry body, the Tourism &amp;amp; Transport Forum (TTF).
&amp;#160;
Cubic is the world’s leading company in the smart card ticketing field, having installed systems in more than 40 cities around the globe, including London, New York, San Francisco and Brisbane.
In London, almost 35 million Oyster cards have been issued and they account for more than 9 million trips every day. Around the world more than ten billion trips are made every year using Cubic ticketing technology.

    <description>DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - &amp;#160;April 11, 2011 – Cubic (NYSE:CUB), the world's leading solution provider of automated fare collection systems for public transport, has unveiled its vision for a fully integrated, whole of transport, journey and payments management platform – Nextcity.
Presented at the UITP 2011 World Congress &amp;amp; Exhibition, the vision is to enable transport operators to regulate demand by setting fees and fares across all modes of transport within a region. Nextcity will also enable customers to manage how they travel – whether by train, bus, taxi, private vehicle or bike – by providing both operators and travelers real-time, dynamic information that will make their journey faster and more reliable. Cubic will develop Nextcity through evolution of Cubic’s existing Nextfare and Nextaccount platforms. Nextcity will integrate with the payment and information systems of other transport modes, without the need to replace any existing infrastructures.
&amp;#160;
Nextcity will allow regions and cities to educate their population –in real time– about the cost, timeliness, reliability and environmental impact of their personal journey choices.
Steve Shewmaker, president of Cubic Transportations Systems, commented on Nextcity: “For smarter travel to become a reality, more dynamic and fully integrated information and payment management systems are needed. The benefit will be faster, simpler and more efficient travel.
&amp;#160;
He added, “If transport stakeholders can understand, at a macro and micro level, which factors are most prevalent in causing congestion points and bottlenecks in their cities, they can take appropriate action to vary these factors to influence demand and therefore maximize efficiency.”
&amp;#160;
Cubic believes the opportunity to understand, predict, manage and influence transport - across all modes - with the use of Nextcity’s transport asset will be significant.&amp;#160;It is what is needed in global cities and is what is coming next.
