SAN DIEGO, CA, November 16, 2011 - After 17,300 video views the Local Winners have been selected and voting is now underway to determine the $5,000 National Prize winner in the “
I Heart My Card” video contest, sponsored by
Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc., the transportation unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:
CUB).
Four Local Winners each received a $1,500 prize in a first round of voting on the
IHeartMyCard YouTube channel and are now competing for the national prize:
- I Love My Breeze Card: An Atlanta graduate school couple would rather use their time playing with their toddler than sitting in traffic
- Next Stop: EASY Surfing: A surfer catches Miami Beach waves by catching the bus with his EASY Card (Also Cubic’s $1,500 Front Runner prize winner at APTA)
- The Race: A Los Angeles transit rider and his TAP Card take on a runner and a fast driver - who wins?
- The Lifesaver: An eager candidate lands the big job with help from the Minneapolis Go-To Card
Also eligible for the national prize are these three Front Runner winners, whose videos held an early lead in their local contests and were featured at Cubic's booth at the American Public Transit Association (APTA) 2011 annual meeting and expo.
The National Winner will receive $5,000 and be announced by Cubic Transportation Systems on January 4, 2012.
There was a lot of buzz surrounding the first round of the contest including:
- 6,900 IHeartMyCard.com visits and 11,690 page views
- 17,300 video views on the contest’s YouTube channels
