Cubic Announces Promotions, Expanded Roles for Key Transportation Unit Executives

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -  August 2, 2010 - Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB), today announced three executive promotions that reflect the company’s commitment to build and maintain an experienced and dynamic management team.

The three executives promoted to Vice President are Carl Adrignola, Steve Brunner and Matt Newsome.

"As the world’s largest provider of revenue management systems for transit agencies, one of Cubic’s priorities is to strengthen and grow our leadership team, in parallel with our expanding services business,” said Richard Wunderle, senior vice president and general manager, Cubic Transportation Systems North America. “Carl, Steve and Matt have demonstrated the necessary leadership strengths to support our expanded customer base.”

Carl Adrignola, who had been a contracts director for Cubic since 2008, is now vice president of contracts. He has more than 35 years of experience in both commercial and government contracts administration and management.  He graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management.

Steve Brunner and Matt Newsome, previously regional directors at Cubic, have been promoted to vice president and regional director for their respective regions in North America where Cubic currently does business and is seeking to expand.

Brunner is responsible for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, where customers include transit agencies in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

With responsibility for the West Coast, Newsome oversees more than 20 customer projects from San Francisco to San Diego.

As regional directors, both are responsible for the entire scope of Cubic’s offerings for public transit, from design and build to ongoing services for operation and maintenance of fare collection systems.

Brunner started his Cubic career 27 years ago as an intern, and since then he has held progressively challenging positions in program and engineering management in the United States and as director of engineering at Cubic’s United Kingdom subsidiary. He has a computer science degree from National University.

Newsome has been with Cubic for almost 20 years.  He started as a mechanical engineer and advanced through engineering management before transferring to Cubic’s U.K. operations as director of business development.  Newsome has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from University of San Diego.
